RUSSIA - Gubkin University, the most Influential Oil and Gas University, selects CTSpace’s Engineering Content Management Solution as Official Instructional Tool

CTSpace, a global leader in providing document management and collaboration workflow applications for the construction and engineering industries, signed an official agreement on December 1st with the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (http://www.gubkin.ru/en/) to install the engineering content management solution FusionEnterprise on the university’s systems. FusionEnterprise has been adapted to Russian standards by specialists of the Gubkin Russian State University. Students at the prestigious engineering university, many of them future oil and gas executives and project leaders in Russia’s booming energy sector, will use FusionEnterprise in learning about effective engineering content and construction project management.


FRANCE - Energy (nuclear), ITER international project

ITER is a large-scale scientific experiment designed to prove the viability of nuclear fusion as an energy source and to collect the data necessary for the design and subsequent operation of the first nuclear fusion power plant. Launched as an idea for international collaboration in 1985, the ITER Agreement includes China, the European Union, India, Japan, Korea, Russia and the United States. The incredibly complex ITER Tokamak will be nearly 30 meters tall, and weigh 23 000 tons. The ITER site in Cadarache, France is ready: in 2010, construction begins on the ITER Tokamak and scientific buildings. .


MOROCCO - Moroccan refinery company SAMIR chooses FusionEnterprise for IBM® FileNet P8® for engineering and project management.

CTSpace’s FusionEnterprise for IBM® FileNet P8® will be used by SAMIR, a public company with a staff of 1100 and $3.2 billion turnover in 2009, currently operates at a capacity of 6.5 MT/year (under expansion to 8.2 MT/year). Sword’s FusionEnterprise for IBM® FileNet P8® constructs engineering and project management features around the FileNet framework essential to the timely and successful completion and ongoing operation of modern engineering projects. Thus, FusionEnterprise for IBM® FileNet P8® will “help streamline and automate the life of engineering drawings and related procedure documents from creation to archiving, resulting in significant reduction in project duration, costs and facilitate the maintenance.”, explains Hmida M’Hamdi, Technical Services Director at SAMIR.


VIETNAM - Fusion Enterprise to be used by the Thang Long Joint Operating Company in Vietnam on their new oil and gas field development project.

The Thang Long Joint Operation Company, a joint venture between Petro Vietnam and the Canadian oil and gas company Talisman Energy Inc., will use FusionEnterprise on their new large-scale oil and gas field development project in Vietnam, an operation to extract oil and gas from block 15-2/01 reserves identified in test drilling. FusionEnterprise will control and streamline documentation and communication between the two project partners, and help the joint venture reduce time and overhead costs and reduce the risks associated with document control.


GERMANY - Hochtief, Germany's largest construction company, chooses CTSpace for the structural design of two power stations for RWE.

Hochtief is Germany's largest construction company. Based in Essen, it operates globally, ranking as the top general builder in the United States through its Turner Corporation subsidiary, and in Australia through the Leighton Group. As part of the RWE power station renovation program, the Consult IKS Energy planning department at HOCHTIEF has been awarded the contract for the structural design of two coal-fired power stations. At Eemshaven in the Netherlands, a new coal-fired power station with a gross capacity of 1,600 MW will be erected on a site covering approx. 125 acres. The new facility can be partly fired using biomass and is due to be connected to the grid in 2013. In addition, the power station at Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia will be upgraded to the most advanced power-station technology with the construction of a dual-block facility. The CTSpace solution has been used successfully by HOCHTIEF for many years. This approach has also been chosen for the current power station projects because of the in-depth understanding of the process that CTSpace consultants offer.


POLAND - EDF Polska selects CTSpace software applications for document control and collaboration on all Polish operations.

CTSpace, global provider of project document control and collaboration solutions for the design, engineering and construction of capital-intensive projects, today announced that they will be working with EDF Polska on all their sites in Poland. EDF Polska is part of EDF Group, one of the three largest energy companies in Europe. The Polish unit provides a total generating capacity of more than 3000MWe and it is responsible for the co-ordination and piloting of manufacturing and service companies belonging to the EDF Group in Poland. EDF Polska controls 7 power and hot water plants in Poland. With continual investment in mind, all the technical documentation for their projects needs to be stored in a safe but easily accessible way. EDF Polska selected CTSpace software applications for project document control and collaboration with contractors and sub contractors for the design phase and construction phase for all projects to be completed in Poland.

UK - Centrica choose CTSpace technology for the UK Wind Farm Development Project

Centrica is committed to developing wind farms, as part of their energy portfolio, to supply power to British Gas and Scottish Gas customers. Previously the company was relying on email to share plans and documents with partners. This led to data silos forming across the supply chain, resulting in limited visibility of crucial information, problems with version control and an inconsistent audit trail. CTSpace technology will streamline the way Centrica engineers and project managers handle key information and communicate it to their contractors and suppliers.


USA - BP Alternative Energy choose CTSpace for the Hydrogen Fuelled Power Plant project in Long Beach, California

BP Alternative Energy is a business unit of BP and it's joint venture partner Edison Mission Group (EMG), a subsidiary of Edison International. The project is to design, deploy, operate and maintain a 500MV hydrogen fueled power plant in Long Beach, California. The project will last 5 years and will ensure maximum benefit is gained in the deployment of workflow and business process.
